Trigger Point Pilates combines Pilates’ core moves with trigger point release and clinical Myofascial principles to help alleviate chronic pain conditions using equipment. The class is designed to release tight muscles and enhance functional daily movement and restructure the body. Myofascia = Myo means Muscle and Fascia means Band On a deeper level think cellular! Fascia is a matrix of cells, a network throughout the whole body. If we take fascia away our bodies would fall apart! Bones and Organs are supported by fascia; each organ is wrapped in a hammock of fascia that’s connected to the spine, ribs, or pelvis. Tendons and ligaments are layers of fascia that are meant to absorb shock and distribute impact. If tendons are tight, dehydrated and shortened, they can’t absorb impact and will fray, shearing, causing pain. The method uses your own body weight, movement, breathing and equipment to help Myofascial release through gentle Pilates movements. By the end of the sessions you'll feel lighter and lengthened.
