VeraFlow With Mindfulness

VF White background wide.png

In yoga, there is a strong spiritual aspect that not everyone can relate to. But the thing is, you don't have to be spiritual in order to be mindful at all. In VeraFlow we practice mindfulness which can be breathing or imagery exercises. These help you to be more present in the moment and they can help you manage your anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, and pain. It's also great for people who want to improve their health and well-being.

We live an overwhelming lifestyle with so little time for ourselves and often we don't even realise how many beautiful things surround us. Becoming more aware of the present, acknowledging if we struggle with any situations, and being able to cope with these situations can take a huge pressure off of your shoulders.

When you become more experienced, mindfulness meditation and visualisation can calm your mind so that you can see and understand things better. It can help you to gain a more objective view of yourself and how what is happening in your life affects you physically and emotionally as well. When you practice mindfulness on a regular basis you become more aware and able to solve situations that you've been dealing with in the past or present.

We all know that stress is a monster. But, did you know that chronic pain is often associated with ongoing stress? Sometimes the physical pain we feel (most commonly persistent lower back pain) is amplified by the stressful environment and situations we are facing. Mindfulness practice helps our nervous system calm and therefore not only does it reduce stress but physical pain too. There are so many benefits in giving yourself a well-deserved 'me time' and incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine.

At the end of a VeraFlow class, when practising mindfulness, you're finally given some free space to just focus on you.

What is VeraFlow?

Vera means true in Italian, so VeraFlow is about finding your true flow, not only for your body but also for your mind.

What happens in a VeraFlow class?

Stretching is incorporated into the dance routine and continues through the entire session. All the dances are choreographed to music.
VeraFlow is a low-impact class meaning there's no jumping. We use dance to warm up and to keep the body warm throughout the class. This will make your muscles ready for stretching, reducing the risk of injuries and making the stretching more effective.

The class starts with a dynamic warm-up and a couple of cardio-like routines. After this, we move onto slower standing stationary routines with deeper static stretches familiar with yoga and Pilates. Continuing this we do the floor routines on the mat and we finish the session with a mindfulness practice. To sum up, we're going to focus on having fun and enjoying ourselves, while we learn how to exercise with a mindful approach.
