Which parts of Yoga are incorporated in VeraFlow®?

We practice Downward Dog, Child's Pose, Dancer Pose and so many more in VeraFlow. These poses help stretch, lengthen and strengthen the muscles in the body as well as improve balance and postural awareness.

Is VeraFlow® for complete beginners?

Everything we do in a VeraFlow® class can be modified or progressed, so beginners, as well as more experienced students, are welcome. The classes are adaptable to all levels so everyone can participate and get the most out of the class.

What should I wear to a VeraFlow® class?

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in easily. Bring something warm too if you want to feel cosy during mindfulness/relaxation. You will also need to bring a yoga mat and water to drink. If you don't have a mat you can also bring a thick towel instead.

Does VeraFlow® really work?

If you attend classes on a regular basis, you will notice positive changes both in your body and mind. VeraFlow® is a low-impact class (we don't jump) and the dance is more to have fun and warm up/keep your muscles warm rather than get sweaty. The pliability we create in the muscles and the increased mobility we gain at our joints allows us to make the most of the stretches. You will notice a positive change in postural awareness and you'll be less prone to injuries in your everyday life.

Is VeraFlow® a yoga class?

We do practice moves that you might have seen in yoga and Pilates classes but VeraFlow® is not yoga and it is not meant to substitute yoga.

What happens in a VeraFlow® class?

The class starts with a warm-up routine, which is followed by a series of yoga and Pilates-inspired moves wrapped up in dance choreographies that will increase your flexibility, strength and coordination. You'll learn a big variety of dance styles throughout this programme while you are using lots of different stretching techniques such as dynamic, static, active or passive. After the warm-up and standing routines, we move to the floor where we continue stretching to the beautiful music.  The class ends with mindfulness practice and relaxation.

What is Mindfulness, and why is it good for me?

Mindfulness meditation and visualisation exercises can help you to calm your mind and to find peace. They can help you to get a clearer understanding of how things really are - to get perspective. Once you are practised at being mindful you'll find that how you react to things that occur in your everyday life will begin to change. You'll be able to apply the mindfulness tools you learn in VeraFlow® classes to your everyday life.

The mindfulness section at the end of a VeraFlow® class is usually a very relaxing experience because you're finally able to give yourself time to simply be with yourself.
